Post URGENT Connection Problem
Hi, I need help and Support doesn't work on weekends apparently. When I try to login I get a message saying that I need to verify that the server is online and try again. I looked in System Preferences under OpenBase Manager and it does allow network access. I can't find any information on the XSilva website that is helpful in any way and I'm not an IT person so I have no idea what to do. We are a retail store an weekends are our busiest time and there is just no support from Xsilva on our busiest days. HELP!!!

Did you get it working? If not, try opening the OpenBase Manager application on your server, then click "Local" to see the server's databases (there's only one). If it has a red dot next to it, then it stopped for some reason. Click the little "play" triangle to start it again.

This is assuming you're on 2.9.x or earlier.

If that doesn't help, or you're on 3.x, now that it's a weekday you should definitely get in touch with Support.

I wish the OP would update us and let us know what the fix was! I am trying to log in for the first time and am getting the same message. In System Prefs, it shows the server as running, so I am not at all sure what the issue is. Xsilva Support is not returning my messages - does anyone know what hours they work? When I call, it doesn't say that the office is closed.

If anyone has any ideas please let us know! We need to get the POS set up yesterday!

Thanks!

If the original poster is in the same waiting days for support, only to have them not able to make their login thing work, so I have to wait days longer again - he's probably still waiting for Xsilva to get ahold of him with a solution!!

3.1 is horrible, it's been crashing my Mac for days now and basically cannot rely on Lightspeed to be able to do invoices or lookup prices etc... Xsilva really doesn't seem to care about making things work.

I have asked to be contacted by the president or the service/support manager to find out why their service is so brutal and have yet to hear anything back from them at all on that front.

Same with the service for me.

LS 3.0.1 server stopped for some reason. It hadn't missed a beat beforehand. Then the hard drive failed, probably related.

Tried to start again after the MacPro came back....nothing....

Either wouldn't migrate from Openbase or when it did it wouldn't start.

Then had to get another license and get told to download 2.9.2 [info straight off website]

They dont seem to know that without 2.9.2 there is no openbase or I certainly cant find it.

Other license only good for one install.....still wouldn't start.....now that key doesn't work.

Had uninstalled everything but still wouldn't reinstall properly

Running a warehouse now for 10 days without a server.......three days without support contacting me back [well, it will be by the time they do now if then]

This is a nightmare at the moment. Wasting half my time trying to do different things

As an update to this.. Xsilva updates have solved the problem it seems.. however still waiting to hear back on my request to be contacted by the company president. Have been told that they are working on getting service to be better - the proof will be in the pudding on that.
